The Regional Studies Center (RSC) convened the latest in the monthly series of analytical briefings on 26 September, focusing on recent developments in Armenia and the wider South Caucasus region.

The Regional Studies Center (RSC) held a special analytical briefing on 14 August to assess the Washington trilateral “peace summit” hosted by U.S. President Trump on 8 August, with Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Aliyev signing a new “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) agreement and the two sides also initialing a post-war bilateral peace treaty. A separate online session of this special briefing was also held on 15 August, with participants from Ankara, Berlin, Brussels, London, Paris, Tbilisi and Washington.

The Regional Studies Center (RSC) held a monthly analytical briefings on 14 November to review recent developments in Armenia and to assess the implications of the U.S. elections on Armenia and the South Caucasus region. RSC Director Richard Giragosian presented a detailed analysis of ongoing diplomatic negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan over a bilateral peace treaty, the outlook for Armenia-Turkey “normalization,” and a look at the Armenian foreign policy strategy of “diversification.” The second part of the briefing offered an assessment of the U.S. election and a discussion of the implications of a new Trump Administration on the region.

The briefing offered an assessment of recent developments in Armenia and the South Caucasus region, with a specific focus on the state of current Armenian-Azerbaijani diplomatic negotiations, the outlook for Armenia-Turkey “normalization,” and a wider focus on the policy of “diversification” of Armenian Foreign policy. The briefing by RSC Director Richard Giragosian also reviewed recent developments in domestic politics in the country, including the recent end of opposition protests and the fallacy of Azerbaijan’s demand to amend the Armenian constitution.

As part of our regular series of monthly briefings, the Regional Studies Center (RSC) convened a briefing on 10 July to assess recent developments in Armenia and the wider South Caucasus region. The Austrian, Canadian, Swedish and Swiss ambassadors attended, along with diplomatic staff from the Embassies of Germany, Poland, Romania, the European Union Delegation to Armenia, officials from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Council of Europe, and several prominent local Armenian experts and analysts.
