“Destination=>PEACE” Youth Training Course

“Destination=>PEACE” Youth Training Course
2-9 November 2013

The Regional Studies Center (RSC) hosted an advanced training course entitled “Destination=>PEACE,” which took place in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia from 2-9 November 2013. The project involved 29 participants from 10 countries, including Armenia, Belarus, Czech Republic, Georgia, Malta, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, and Ukraine.

The main aim of the project was to promote the “culture of peace” among the participants by deepening their knowledge, developing their skills, shaping new attitudes and emphasizing the common values which can be used as the main background for peace-building in their local communities and beyond. The objectives of the training course were to provide a platform for the participants to share their experience; to learn from each other by developing their personal and professional capacities and also the capacities of their respective organizations.

The project was based on non-formal education methods, including ice-breaking and team-building actvities, debates, discussions, outdoor activities, interactive games, etc.. The participants also had a chance to get to learn about different funding opportunities, such as Erasmus+, European Youth Foundation, USAID, etc.. They had an open space which gave them a chance to start the planning of follow-up projects on the spot by using the capacity present at the project.

The project was funded in the framework of the European Commission's Youth in Action programme.
