The Regional Studies Center (RSC) is offering a structured, certificate-based series of professional training courses for students and young professionals. The certified training seminars and courses are offered weekly, based on an academic semester schedule, running from February-May 2013.
We are holding an opening orientation session on Tuesday, 29 January 2013, from 19:00-21:00. The session will be held at the fourth floor conference room in the Caucasus Institute building, located at 39 Koghbatsi Street in central Yerevan (for more details see attached).
Based on an academic semester, the “RSC Expert School” is now offering three new courses: (1) Regional Developments & Trends, (2) Military Strategy, Security Analysis & National Security, and (3) Democratization, Political Reform and Economic Development.

“RSC Expert School”
The Regional Studies Center (RSC) offers a structured, certificate-based series of professional training courses for students and young professionals. The certified training seminars and courses are offered weekly, based on an academic semester schedule, running from February-May 2013.
Known as the “RSC Expert School,” the program is part of our broader Education Project, which seeks to contribute to raising educational standards in Armenia by offering a series of modern, innovative and interactive training seminars, lectures and workshops.
Based on an academic semester, the “RSC Expert School” is now offering three new courses: (1) Regional Developments & Trends, (2) Military Strategy, Security Analysis & National Security, and (3) Democratization, Political Reform and Economic Development.
Please note our new venue: we will be meeting in the Conference Room at the Imperium Plaza Business Center, located at 4/7 Amiryan Street in Yerevan.
Since the launch of the “Expert School” in 2010, the RSC offers a series of innovative lectures, and interactive training seminars and professional development workshops devoted to various areas of practical interests, and an added feature of our Expert School is a regular series of scenario-based modeling and simulation exercises and “war-gaming” sessions.

COURSE ONE: 5 February - 5 March (five weeks)
Regional Developments & Trends
Topics: A broad assessment of regional developments and major trends in the South Caucasus, the wider Black Sea region and the larger Middle East, with an added focus on Armenia’s position within this deeper context of systemic change and geopolitical shifts.
COURSE TWO: 12 March - 9 April (five weeks)
Military Strategy, Security Analysis & National Security
Topics: A comprehensive analysis of military strategy and reform, security studies and analysis, and national security issues and the decision-making process.
COURSE THREE: 16 April - 14 May (five weeks)
Democratization, Political Reform and Economic Development
Topics: Assessing the broader trends in democratization, political reform and economic development, with a comparative analysis of Armenia within the context of post-Soviet transition.
