The RSC convened a briefing on 6 March to report on a recent study visit to Turkey on 25 February-3 March. This special briefing assessed the outlook for Armenia-Turkey “normalization.” The participants in the RSC Study Visit to Turkey, which included events, meetings and activities in both Istanbul and Ankara, included three staff from Radio Azatutyun: Nane Sahakyan, Tatevik Lazaryan and Ani Sardaryan), and two RSC staff: Zara Sahakyan and Laetitia de Montgolfier.

In the latest in a series of monthly briefings, our think tank, the Regional Studies Center (RSC), convened a session on 22 February to assess recent developments in Armenia and the wider South Caucasus region, with a specific focus on the state of diplomacy between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the outlook for Armenia-Turkey “normalization.”
As a frequent commentator for the international media, RSC Director Richard Giragosian appeared on the Kazakh “Silk Way TV” channel, offering commentary on the recent election in Azerbaijan in a deeper analytical report by journalist Bal Samigullina that aired on 9 February 2024 in Kazakhstan. Giragosian’s brief commentary comes at 1:14 in the program.
RSC Director Richard Giragosian returned as a guest on CivilNetTV for a discussion with Patrick Armen Elliott on 8 February. Reflecting the informal structure of a podcast, this roughly 40-minute program offered a discussion that covered a wide range of issues, from Azerbaijan’s recent election to the state of the Azerbaijani military, as well as an overview of issues related to Armenian defense reform and national security.
