As the latest in our think tank’s collaboration with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), RSC Director Richard Giragosian served as a senior trainer for KAS Georgia’s Academy of Political Education in a three-day training and role play simulation exercise held in Yerevan from 25-27 August.
In a report for Poland’s TVP on 23 August, RSC Director Richard Giragosian joined TVP news anchor Alex Sumlinsky to discuss the broader regional implications of the Armenia-Azerbaijan transport agreement. The program focused on Iran and Turkey as regional actors, with a discussion of the recent visit to Armenia by the Iranian president, the role of Russia, and the outlook for Armenia-Türkiye “normalization.”
In a podcast for Radio France International’s (RFI) International Report, RSC Director Richard Giragosian joined Farid Shafiev, for an Azerbaijani perspective, and Asli Aydintasbas, for the perspective from Türkiye, to assess the implications from the Armenia and Azerbaijan peace deal on Armenia- Türkiye normalization. Aired on 19 August, the podcast also looked at the wider repercussions for the South Caucasus region.

In a report by Dorian Jones on 14 August, the DW “Inside Europe” program assessed the new strategic context of regional geopolitics after the Washington “peace summit” between Armenia and Azerbaijan on 8 August. The program included comments from RSC Director Richard Giragosian, and also featured Farid Shafiev providing the Azerbaijani perspective and Asli Aydintasbas for the view from Türkiye. The report begins at 9:35 in the show and runs through the 16:50 mark of the program.
