The Regional Studies Center (RSC) announces the opening of the application process for prospective participants in the “RSC Expert School,” a structured, certificate-based series of professional training courses for students, youth and young professionals.
The certified training seminars and courses are offered weekly, based on an academic semester schedule, in Yerevan, running from 18 September-18 December 2012.
The four-month Fall Session 2012 will consist of three specific courses: (1) Military & Security Studies, (2) Public Policy: Process & Issues, and (3) Political Science.

BACKGROUND
“RSC Expert School”
The Regional Studies Center (RSC) offers a structured, certificate-based series of professional training courses for students, youth and young professionals. The certified training seminars and courses are offered weekly, based on an academic semester schedule, running from September-December 2012.
Known as the “RSC Expert School,” the program is part of our broader Education Project, which seeks to raise educational standards in Armenia by offering affordable, modern and innovative academic training. Since its launch in 2010, the “Expert School” initiative offers a series of interactive training seminars and workshops covering a wide range of topics, including political science, military and security studies, public policy, economics, education, research and analysis, among others.
Fall 2012 Session

Participation in each of the three courses of the four-month Fall Session 2012 semester costs 15,000 dram per course, or 45,000 dram for the full three-course program, with the fee covering all course-related expenses.

Military & Security Studies
Topics: An assessment of the regional balance of power, an analysis of Armenian defense reform and a focus on the process and policies of national security;
COURSE TWO: 23 September - 13 November
Public Policy: Process & Issues
Topics: An overview of several main areas of public policy, ranging form political to economic reform, with an added focus on the rule of law and related legal reform;
COURSE THREE: 20 November - 11 December
Political Science
Topics: An analysis of general trends in political science, with an examination of elections, political parties & campaign finance, as well as “conflict economics” and political economy.
CLOSING SESSION &
CERTIFICATE PRESENTATION 18 December
