Followed a related RSC Focus Group, RSC Director Richard Giragosian convened a monthly briefing on 29 May, offering a specific assessment of Armenia’s post-war strategy of “diversification,” with a related focus on Armenia’s broader reassertion of independence and sovereignty.
From that perspective, Giragosian examined the outlook for Armenian strategy, policies and efforts to “resist” Russia and “pivot” to the West. This briefing was organized for the benefit of Clingendael- the Netherlands Institute of International Relations, an independent international affairs think tank and academy, and in cooperation with Marina Ohanjanyan, Senior Research Fellow at Clingendael’s Security Unit.
As an independent “think tank,” the Regional Studies Center offers this regular series of analytical briefings presenting a concise and comprehensive assessment of the most significant political, economic and military/security developments in Armenia and the South Caucasus region. These briefings, conducted in English, are usually by invitation only and cater to a distinct audience comprised of the diplomatic community and international organizations working in Armenia, with some local Armenian guests as well.
