
RSC Director Richard Giragosian and Senior Analyst David Shahnazaryan each addressed the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s 89th Rose-Roth Seminar in Yerevan on 19 June. In a panel entitled “NATO’s Partnership in the South Caucasus, RSC Senior Analyst Shahnazaryan gave a presentation on the need for greater NATO engagement in the South Caucasus, with an additional focus on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the outlook for resuming the process of Armenia-Turkey “normalization.”
.RSC Director Giragosian also addressed the conference on 19 June, as a speaker on a panel entitled, “Building Integrity as part of Defence Reform in Armenia.” Giragosian spoke after Armenian deputy Defense Minister Ara Nazaryan and focused on three main “imperatives of integrity” in Armenian defense reform, including “transparency, professionalism and accountability.”
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s 89th Rose-Roth seminar is held every summer in the South Caucasus and rotates between each country. This is the third time Giragosian and Shahnazaryan were invited as speakers to this round of NATO Parliamentary Assembly seminars, and Giragosian also attended the June 2014 session in Baku, Azerbaijan, speaking on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
