In partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Regional Programme Political Dialogue South Caucasus and the Eduardo Frei Foundation, the Regional Studies Center (RSC) launched a certificate-based professional training and development project specifically tailored to the alumni from the KAS “Leadership Academy” program.
After an orientation session on 30 August, the first session of the RSC-KAS training program opened on 13 September, with a focus on Geopolitics & Foreign Policy. The session also included a specific assessment of the Armenia-Turkey “normalization” process, with an interactive discussion led by RSC Director Richard Giragosian and Garo Paylan, a prominent visitor who served for two terms as a member of the Turkish parliament.
This project serves the “Leadership Academy” alumni community through the provision of regular analytical training workshops, a mentorship program and a publication campaign to provide capacity-building and professional development opportunities. The project will be implemented for four months, from September-January 2025.
The are four specific objectives of this educational project:
- To elevate the discourse and enhance informed debate about the public policy issues of post-war security, economic connectivity, defense reform and Armenian foreign policy.
- To empower critical thinking and analytical writing with a specific focus on the alumni of the KAS “Leadership Academy.”
- To enable the professional development and growth of alumni through their active participation in the interactive certificate-based training, the guidance from the mentorship program and the opportunity for the publication of their analytical research.
- To educate and sustain confidence in democracy and reform.
