Dr. Zolyan holds extensive academic and professional experience and is a recognized expert on the issues of ethnic conflict and the politics of nationalism and ethnicity, as well as democratization and nation-building in the post-Soviet context.

After an introduction by Peoplemeter Press Club director Tehmina Arzumanyan, Giragosian opened the press conference by briefly presenting the broader context of the crisis in Ukraine, before focusing on the impact on the European Union (EU) and Russia.
