The Regional Studies Center (RSC) held its latest closed monthly briefing on March 26, providing an analysis of recent political, economic and military security trends in Armenia, but with an added focus on the implications from Russian aggression against Ukraine, followed by an informal “off-the-record” closed discussion (see briefing summary notes below).

.

Several senior diplomats attended the briefing, including the Lithuanian Ambassador Erikas Petrikas, former UK Ambassador Jonathan Aves, and Petr Mikyska, the Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Yerevan. Other participants included Teresa Daban Sanchez and David Dole, the heads of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) respectively, Tine Laufer, the Head of DAAD Information Centre in Yerevan, and officials from the Embassies of Bulgaria, Poland and Romania, as well as representatives from the Council of Europe, the European Union Delegation to Armenia, the United Nations (UN), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Central Bank of Armenia.

As an independent “think tank,” the Regional Studies Center (RSC) offers this series of monthly briefings in order to serve as more of a resource for the diplomatic community and international organizations in Armenia by providing an alternative source of objective analysis and information on a regular monthly basis.
