RSC FOCUS GROUP: THE NAGORNO KARABAKH PEACE PROCESS

On Thursday, 26 November, the Regional Studies Center (RSC) held a special “Focus Group” on the current state of the international mediation of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, with an added assessment of the outlook for the peace process.

The two-hour focus group assessed a number of aspects of the conflict, including the underlying political, economic and military factors, and explored a set of policy recommendations aimed at de-escalation and “conflict transformation.”  In addition to the fifteen participants, mainly consisting of graduate students and young professionals, German Ambassador to Armenia Matthias Kiesler, Mr. Paulo Borda Silos, Counselor and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Brazilian Embassy in Armenia, Ms. Andrea Chalupová, the Political Officer at the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, and Ms. Anca Alexandra David, a visiting researcher from the Università Ca' Foscari in Venice, Italy, also attended the focus group.
